Hong Kong Trips Day 1

Spending 4 days and 4 nights in Hong kong and Macau.

I planned this trip 4 months ahead of our schedule and it's a surprise birthday gift to my wife's 32nd Birthday last January 20.

Flying  from Cebu direct flight to Hong kong last 19 January 2013, 22:15 and arrived HKIA around 00:55 am. thanks to Cebu Pacific Air Promo Fares. From Cebu Immigration to Hong kong Immigration we didn't encounter any problems.

Since we arrived in Hong kong early in the morning, we decide to stay at the airport until 7 am in the morning. We find place to take a nap for a couple of hours, anyway HKIA is safe and nice place to sleep and stay. 6:00 am in the morning, we buy an Octopus Card, this card can be used in MTR, BUS and other establishments. Worth HK$ 150 for adults and 65 for the kids.

It's already 7:am when we get out from the airport but for our surprise it's still dark and its very cold in HK. We take City bus A21 going to Kowloon Island , since we booked our Hostel @ Tsim Sha Tsu, fare worth HK$ 33. We arrived the Hostel 8:00 am,our room was not yet ready we just check in our luggage and then visit the tourist spot nearby and come back @ 11:00 am for proper check-in.  We stayed at this hostel, checked there website:    http://www.yiufaiguesthouse.com/ .

Day 1:  Arrival and Exploring Hong kong and Kowloon, Islands.

After check-in we decided to try to ride on the Tram at Hongkong Island, it's very cheap it cost only HK$2.50 using our Octopus card. from Pedder St. @ Central to Causeway Bay and versa.

After 2 hours of exploring Hongkong Island, we take a ride a Star Ferry ( cost hk$ 2.25 per pax ) from Central pier going to TST, Kowloon Island to visit the Salisbury Park where you can see The Hongkong Museum, Tower Clock and the famous Avenue of the Star.

We comeback to the Hostel around 11:00 am to check-in and take a rest for a while. It's already 3:00 pm when we continue our journey to explore Kowloon Island. We visited the Kowloon Park and Avenue of the Comic Star.

It's almost dark when we finished strolling the whole park, since it's my wife's birthday we decide to look for  a place where we can eat and celebrate her birthday in a simple way.

This is what we get for our Dinner.

In the evening of our first day in Hongkong we go back to the Avenue of the Star to witness the spectacular and famous attraction every night in Hongkong , The Symphony of Lights, it happens evry 8:00 in the evening.

After the spectacular shows we decided to go back to stroll Tsim Sha Tsu arae and then back to our Hostel to take arest and be ready for our Day 2 adventure @ Hongkong Disneyland.

Bus Fare airport to Hotel:  HK$ 33 x 2              = HK$ 66

3 nights Hotel                 :  HK$ 400 /night x 3   = HK$ 1200

Tram fare                       :  HK$ 5.00 x 2           = HK$ 10

Star Ferry  fare              :  HK$ 2.25 x 2           = HK$ 5

Lunch:                           :  HK$ 45    x 2           = HK$ 90
